The VetTix Chief Strategy Officer shares stories of his time in the Marines and how that inspired him to continue to serve the veteran and first responder communities after retiring as a Colonel in 2019. VetTix has distributed over 15.2 million tickets to Military, Veterans and their families since 2008 (over 3.8 million in 2022 alone!) About Our Guest
Steve enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in 1987 serving as a Combat Engineer. Upon earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in 1989 he was commissioned a Marine Corps Second Lieutenant and designated as a Logistics Officer. On active duty, he deployed to numerous locales throughout the Western Pacific and the Persian Gulf regions aboard the USS Rushmore participating in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia.
He earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2000. While serving in the Marine Corps Reserves, he mobilized on active duty several times include two combat tours in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
After over 32 years of service on active duty and the reserves, he retired from the Marine Corps Reserves in 2019 attaining the rank of Colonel.
Steve is very involved with veteran’s organizations and initiatives throughout Arizona and nationwide. He’s dedicated to ensuring that transitioning service members and veterans are connected with the resources that will assist them with success after their military service.
